Houses in Quincy

I help people sell a house in Quincy, and I help people buy one. I worked in construction before I sold homes, so I look at the roof, the foundation, and the systems before we talk about price.

Quincy is a city, not a town, and locals call it the City of Presidents. John Adams and John Quincy Adams were born here, and so was John Hancock. Locals go by neighborhood: Wollaston, North Quincy, Quincy Center, Quincy Point, Squantum, Houghs Neck, Marina Bay, Merrymount, Adams Shore, Germantown and West Quincy. Wollaston Beach is the largest beach on Boston Harbor, and the Blue Hills Reservation covers about 23 percent of the city. Dunkin’ Donuts and Howard Johnson’s both started here, and the Flag Day parade is called the longest running in the country. The Red Line stops at North Quincy, Wollaston, Quincy Center and Quincy Adams, and I-93, US-1 and Route 3 meet at the Braintree Split. Homes are on city water supplied by the MWRA, and the city runs its own sewer system. I look at the roof, the foundation, and the systems before we talk about price. That visit is not an inspection, and it is not an appraisal.

Quincy single-family homes, January 1 to October 23, 2026 (MLS PIN): median sale price $759,000; 241 sales closed; median 20 days on market; median $485 per square foot.

Reasons to sell in Quincy

The worry, then how I help.

Upsizing

You do not want to sell before the next house is set.

I map the dates so you are not stuck with two payments or nowhere to go.

A multi-family

Tenants may still be in the home, and you are ready to sell.

I follow the lease and the law, and I do not promise that a tenant will leave.

Needs work

The house needs work and you do not want to renovate first.

I price it as it stands, and that opinion is not a home inspection.

Inherited

You inherited a house and you are not sure what you can do yet.

I coordinate with your estate attorney, and I do not give legal advice.

A condo

Fees, reserves, or the rules can surprise a buyer.

I read those before we set a price.

Buy and sell

You need to sell one home and buy the next.

I put both dates on paper before we list.

How I help sellers

From the first call through closing, you deal with me.

Pricing

I price from recent sales and the repairs that pay you back, and this is my opinion, not an appraisal.

Prep

I give you a short prep list and introduce vendors that you hire and pay yourself.

Negotiation

I negotiate price, dates, and inspection terms, and I keep my list to 6 to 8 so I have the time.

Closing

A transaction coordinator keeps the file moving, and you still talk to me.

Buying in Quincy

Or find your next home in Quincy. Before you offer, I look at the roof, the foundation, and the systems. I bring trusted home inspectors and I walk through the inspection with you. I do not replace the inspector.

First home

You are buying your first home and you do not want to miss a costly problem.

I tell you what I see before you offer.

Multi-family

You need the building’s real condition, not a pitch.

I look at the roof, the systems, and the numbers before you offer.

The inspection

You want someone with you who can explain what the report means.

I bring trusted home inspectors and I walk through the inspection with you.

The trip to Boston

You work in Boston and you need the real trip. Quincy has four Red Line stops, about 14 minutes by train, and the commuter rail stops at Quincy Center. The drive is about 22 minutes at peak.

I talk about the train and the roads as facts, then I look at the house.

Questions about Quincy

Do I need a realtor in Quincy to sell my house?

No. A licensed real estate agent can list and sell in Quincy. I am a licensed real estate agent, and I do not use the Realtor title. Searching for a realtor in Quincy? I will walk the house in Wollaston or out in Houghs Neck and price the real condition.

Is Quincy on city water and sewer?

Quincy’s water all comes from the MWRA, and the city has about 205 miles of sewer mains with MWRA treatment. I still confirm water and sewer for each house before we list.

What do you look at before a Quincy seller spends money?

The repairs that pay you back, not a new coat of paint by itself. I will say which is which after the walk. I am not a home inspector.

How does trash work in Quincy?

The city picks up trash at the curb every week for one to eight family homes and condos. Put it out by 7 am. Recycling takes a sticker.

Do you work all of Quincy?

Yes. Wollaston, North Quincy, Squantum, Marina Bay, Quincy Point, Houghs Neck, West Quincy and the other neighborhoods are all in the work. Call or text me if a nearby page is not up yet.

Nearby towns

I also help people buy and sell in the towns next to Quincy. If that page is not up yet, call or text me.
