Hanover is several villages sharing one town name. People say Hanover Center, Four Corners, West Hanover, North Hanover, and South Hanover, and the houses are not the same in each place. The center still has older colonials and Capes near the main streets. Four Corners and the Route 53 side of town carry more day-to-day traffic, with a commercial strip and neighborhoods of single-family homes behind it. West Hanover and the roads toward the North River feel more spread out, with colonials, newer subdivisions, and a few houses that back up to woods or marsh. Route 3 cuts across the town, which is the highway fact buyers ask about. There is no commuter rail station in Hanover, so I do not invent one. When I walk a house I am looking at the roof, the basement, and the mechanicals, not at which village sounds nicer. A damp lower level near the river is a different repair talk than a dry colonial up the hill.
